All members of staff are committed to working effectively, and in close co-operation with our barristers, to ensure we understand the needs and requirements of instructing parties and lay clients.
How we provide the right service for you
We aim to provide you, our clients, with a first class and timely response. Our commitment to delivering the best service possible to you is demonstrated by our management and our clerking/administrative teams. We recognise that the primary function of our staff is to facilitate a successful partnership between the barristers and their clients. We have taken great care to recruit and train a highly experienced, friendly, capable team which works to ensure that the service provided meets the standards to which we are committed.
Our staff are fully committed to providing a high-quality client service, including:
In order to meet the demands of a modern business environment we have, and constantly upgrade, high-calibre IT and other support facilities such as full video and teleconferencing facilities.
Chambers is fully networked, with WiFi areas for clients. All our members have access to their e-mail, both in Chambers and remotely, to ensure speedy exchange of information and documentation. However, we do ask that any e-mail communication containing formal instructions for counsel to act in a professional capacity, should have the word “Instructions” in subject line and copies should be sent to chambers@2-3gis.co.uk on each and every occasion This will ensure our records are kept up fully up-to-date. Similarly, please ensure any information regarding potential or fixed hearing dates or conferences is also sent to chambers@2-3gis.co.uk. If you send an e-mail to a barrister from this site, it will automatically be copied to the clerking team.
Our clerks are happy to discuss fee arrangements with you and are aware of the need for a flexible approach. Their experience allows them to provide realistic fee estimates based on the complexity of the instructions and the seniority of the counsel instructed. Once fees have been confirmed, they will liaise with you regarding the progress of the matter. Fee notes will be issued either when the work is completed, or at regular intervals during a long case: these arrangements can be agreed in advance.
We aim to keep up with best practice and regularly monitor our internal policies and procedures to ensure they are fit-for-purpose. We are very conscious of the need for confidentiality and also the physical security of all information we hold about you and your matters. We ensure our IT security is robust and we can manage effective information barriers, as required, to allow us to manage potential conflicts.
