Vincent practices in all aspects of town and country planning, environmental law, compulsory purchase, local government and finance law and administrative law. He has particular interests in highways and environmental protection.

Other significant work includes Section 78 appeals (and called-in inquiries) for both local planning authority and developers. These have included: substantial retail developments, housing developments, minerals, waste disposal, oil and gas terminal, telecommunications, motorway service areas, wind turbines, cable ski centre, park and ride, golf driving ranges and playing fields, listed buildings and conservation areas.

The most recent Chambers Guide (2009) ranks Vincent as a top rated Planning silk. The Chambers Guide 2006 says of Vincent  that he is "shrewd", "excels in the art of negotiation" and has a "high calibre" national practice. His expertise was rated as "second to none and he continues to act in high-profile local planning inquiries."

Planning Magazine boasted that, “Vincent is included amongst the top planning Barristers as chosen by leading planning lawyers and consultants in England and Wales” and he has continually been ranked as one of the Highest Rated Planning Silks, specifically noted in the most recent edition (June 2010) for his Infrastructure work.
