Morag Ellis QC is widely recognised as an expert in planning and local government law. She maintains a regular private development client base alongside many public sector clients such as utility companies, and a wide range of Local Authorities in England and Wales. Morag is regularly engaged at an early stage by clients to assess strategic pre application options, as well as being retained to assist once the appeal process is underway. Recent inquires cover topics such as residential development, retail sites, windfarms, major compulsory purchase and regeneration schemes and airports. She is also regularly instructed to advise on and appear in Judicial Review and statutory appeal proceedings in the High Court. Morag has a specialist practice in town and village greens applications having dealt with numerous public inquires into applications, along with her regular work in the areas of highways, compensation and land drainage. Alongside her strong English practice, Morag enjoys a constant presence in Wales and is an expert on the existing and developing legislative and policy framework in the two jurisdictions.
